Wavesfactory TrackSpacer v2 - creates space in the mix by deciding the frequencies that the main track needs in another track in real time. Similar to a side chain compressor, but a thousand times more powerful and transparent. It is considered the secret mixing weapon of many artists, producers and engineers.

The Trackspacer has a 32-band EQ that responds to the incoming side chain signal. It analyzes the side chain spectrum and applies an inverse EQ curve to another track. So you make room for a certain track by cutting the exact frequencies it needs in real time to another track.

With version 2.0, the plugin has been improved by introducing new features for better audio control. Introducing M/S or L/R modes, you can apply the effect only to the middle channel, sides, or whatever. Now, with attack and release controls, you can set how the Trackspacer reacts to an incoming signal and how it processes it, making it smoother or more robust like a conventional compressor.

Sound processors respond to an input signal and output an output signal. This input can be direct or external, external is also called "side chain". It is very common to use a side chain compressor, especially in EDM, to lay down a track based on the level of another audio track (i.e. pump effect).

The compressors respond to the amplitude/loudness/level of the audio signal. Based on how loud the source signal is, they apply more or less compression. Multiband compressors split the signal into different bands and apply different settings on each band, but the detection is still the same as usual. Trackspacer splits the original signal into 32 bands and analyzes them individually. It then reverses the result and applies a 32-band EQ to outsample exactly the same frequencies the source needs...and in real time! That's why it's so much better, transparent and easy to use than regular compressors, it's all about discovery.
